I sat down on a green span
wondering who had more wisdom
among the leaders of man.
So I asked Mr. Greenspan for wisdom
to see what he would say;
He seemed to have much strength,
but this was about the sum of it;
"One must exercise their gift
for saying absolutely
nothing, at great length!"
This didn't set too well with me
and I hurried on my way,
until I came upon an old willow bush
swaying in the wind.
So I said, "Hey elder Mr. Bush
what wise word may I hear from you?"
And the elder Mr. Bush replied,
"Sometimes it's helpful to tell a lie."
I thought,
'I'm not content to follow this way', so
I left Mr. elder Bush to sway
and soon came to smooth white water.
I said, "Mr. White Water, you look clear today.
What wisdom have you to say?"
Mr. White Water hung his head and sighed,
"Never water Flowers on the other side!"
"Yes. I do believe I see your view.
Too bad, it doesn't work for you!"
And so I continued in my way.
A boar rose up named Gore,
smiling through his teeth.
I asked Mr. Gore for wisdom,
"What will you say to me?"
Mr. Gore replied,
"Tag your pork projects
on to other essential bills,
where passage is assured,
and there you may let them hide!"
With this in mind I sped along
in relief that he was gone!
But soon a dangerous Condit appeared
which stopped me in my walk.
The path could go no further
but I was not dismayed
because there laid Mr. Log!
I said, "Mr Log, will you help me
over this Condit?"
Mr. Log replied, "Why sure I will
but I wouldn't want you to fall!
Have you stepped in any shit?"
"No Mr. Log! My steps are clean!"
said I.
---And Mr. Log replies,
"But if your mind is full of it
that too will effect your path
over such a Leavy as this...
if one is living a lie!"
