Closely I examined one dot in a picture hanging in my parent's home; the handy work of my oldest
brother, a master artist. Each dot was just a single ink blot, interacting but not touching the
many hundreds of dots that joined to create a master piece of accomplishment.
The single dot blurred in my vision until I stepped back to view the whole image from a distance.
The one dot was an important part of a bigger picture, that of a beautiful violin and bow,
with a piece of sheet music behind it. It seemed the violin could be handled to resound the
music it represented and I marveled at the infinite joining of uniform spots that made it into
a violin of dots.
Each dot, solitarily, would only have made a blemish on a blank piece of white canvas, but
joined in the position the artist had placed them, they formed a master piece. And so it is
with the scope of influence in our lives. Alone, we simply stand as a blot or a blemish, but
together we draw from each other the beauty we were meant to portray.
As Christians, we may not always be able to stand close enough to touch with a hug or hand
shake extended;
but together in God's uniform of harmony we can show forth the beauty we each draw, to portray
the artistic achievement of the Master.
If one has a questionable doubt as to the position the Master has placed them, simply step
back to view the whole image from a distance and see that you are an important part of a
bigger picture.
Together with Him we create a master piece of accomplishment!
