The righteous prayers of his braves and daughters avail much.
The Great One causes trembling knees from many summers to stand as the
great oak.
He plants the feet to hold in sliding paths.
He shields from the cold of long Winter naps,
shinning brighter than the moon at full light,
making me glad to be alive!
Others may shrill at the wind in fear;
faint in the Summer heat;
cry during the floods,
or curse the frost;
yet, I will stand in the winds;
see his smiling face in the sun;
delight in the waters that run,
and embrace the cold... knowing,
he is not the cause of my woes.
In this war for souls
he is much stronger than his foes;
stronger than many nations
rushing to battle on horses!
The Creator guards me as a friend
against opposing enemies and the evil
that resides in stony hearts.
I know not how to travel without him.
As skins that keep out dew,
he wraps me in his Spirit
untouched by time and hardships
and provides for food.
While many seek him with vain pleas
in the heights of hills and mountain ridges,
my eyes show his reflection as still waters do
when I kneel on bended knees,
along the low land bridges.
Some come from the high ground
saying, "I have touched him!"
to pretend they are profound,
but it is he who has touched me!
I bow all earthly treasures of heart
that can anger his providing hand;
so no valley may part
his sacredness from my inward man,
the warrior!
